James Uffindell is an entrepreneur focused on promoting diversity and social mobility by providing students with the best education and career opportunities, regardless of their background. Driven by his passion to help talented students fulfil their potential, he launched his first organisation whilst in his final year at university, helping students from all backgrounds successfully apply to Oxbridge. Six years later, he established the social enterprise Pure Potential to help students from state schools access leading universities – it has helped over a million students. In 2013, James set up Bright Network with a vision to remove the glass ceiling for the brightest graduates when it comes to accessing the very best career opportunities, regardless of their heritage, socio-economic status or background. Today, Bright Network employs 25 people, counts 150,000+ members and works with 300+ leading employers including Civil Service Faststream, Clifford Chance, Deloitte, EY, Mars and Teach First. There have been 10,000 placements of Bright Network members since its inception.
