Leeds & York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

EiDA16 Shortlisted Nominee

Diverse Company Award for Public Sector

The Trust seeks to be an employer of choice, promoting a culture which is welcoming and accessible to all. The D&I Forum is central to engaging and involving their staff, governors, service users, carers and key stakeholders. It is a platform for members who have a passion for promoting diversity, either due to their own values and lived experience and/or because of their profession. Reducing entrenched inequalities and developing D&I within their workforce, and in the way that they deliver mental health and learning disability services, continues to be a key priority within the Trust. There is genuine recognition at Board and senior management level that although progress has been made in many areas, long-term commitment is required to achieve significant improvements. Their approach is to work in partnership and use co-production approaches to enable a more consistent focus on public health and workforce inequalities. The Trust has shown great devotion to ensuring they’re working towards a truly inclusive environment.
