Marcel Vige

EiDA16 Shortlisted Nominee

Head of Diversity & Inclusion Award

Marcel currently spans two roles, as Head of Equality Improvement at Mind, the mental health charity, and interim CEO of the Afiya Trust, a national charity that campaigns on behalf of people from Minority Ethnic groups in relation to long-term conditions. Marcel has worked tirelessly for Mind for over 13 years and has consistently shown great passion for equality and diversity in steering the entire organisation towards becoming a leading player in tackling inequalities in mental health. It is evident that Marcel is a truly inspirational leader who’s able to keep his team constantly motivated, and able to deal with very difficult and challenging situations that arise as part of the work that Mind is doing to remove barriers and fight stigma and discrimination. Current programs focus on the needs of young African Caribbean men, vulnerable migrants, LGBT groups and the development of the capacity of Mind’s local delivery network to more effectively meet the needs of people who experience multiple disadvantage.
